The Birth Of My Baby & The Birth Of My Little Ebook…
Continuing on with my story……
I am starting to think I am writing a biography!!
Actually with the detailed story of my life I definitely think that would be an interesting one, however that is another time and another definitely another place!
The week of the birth of my child was also the week I sold my first little ebook on eBay. The last few weeks of my pregnancy I researched about ebooks and discovered that selling a book as a PDF version was the best way to sell the file. A PDF is able to be read on both Macintosh and PC format. As I already had my manual on a word document format turning it into a PDF was easy once I had the software.
During the first few months of my little ones new life all I sold on eBay was my manual as an ebook. I averaged between 5-10 sales per weeks at $15 each so it wasn’t a great income but it was a start. But the hours that went into earning that $15 each was about 5 minutes! I had already spent the hours creating the manual all I had to do was answer emails and send emails. This was perfect. I was still able to earn a little income and knew that I could concentrate on being a mum!
In June 2007 there was a seminar being held about developing a business on the internet called “World Internet Summit”. Due to having a 2 month old that was nursing it was not an event I could go to but I really wanted to learn so I convinced my father to go for me! Well the Tuesday after the 4 day seminar my father rang me excited and relayed everything he had learned.
There were 12 speakers that each specialized in different aspects of developing a business online. They gave out a wealth of free information and my dad ended up with information overload!!
Between June 2007 and March 2008 I started to read about internet marketing and the online world of business when my little one slept. I bought a few different ebooks on the internet to get my feet wet as a buyer. I subscribed to a few newsletters of Internet Marketers I had found while doing my research. I wont go into all of these books in detail now, I will save my education resources for another post.
One of the ebooks I will mention is “Honest Riches” by Holly Mann. Holly is a young mum and started her business online because of her child so I really related to her. Holly’s book was really basic to read and was easy to understand.
The one thing I have noticed over the last year is that there were not many women represented as Internet Marketers. It is a very Male dominated industry. Maybe because women are only just realizing the potential of this world now. I am sorry if that sounds sexist it is not meant to, it is just from observation I have found.
In the meantime my little ebook during this 12 months was selling quite nicely.
Must away little one is awake so until next time…
Be Good To You & Believe In Your Dreams.

P.S I highly recommend going to this seminar if you can. I edited this post today 18/8/09. I went to this seminar earlier this year in February. It is so worth it!!
