Creating Your Own Email At Your Own Website

Hello Fellow Newbies,

OK. So where do you go next after registering your domain name and organizing your hosting?

Hopefully by now your website should be showing up at your hosting website. For example when you type in your website name, you should see a page that says “This website is hosted by such and such etc etc etc” or something to that effect. Well the next thing you want to create is your own email account to your website.

Having your own email account to your own website will make you look more professional as well as personal rather than using the free services or normal email accounts from your Internet supplier.

To create your own email address at your domain name you will need to log-in to your website hosting accounts cpanel (this is your hosting control panel). You do this by typing in your domainname.com/cpanel. Eg www.johnsmithers.com/cpanel. Your log-in details to your cpanel will be on your welcome email from your hosting account.

Week 1. Getting Your Website Online

Hello Fellow Internet Business Newbies,

OK. So by now if you are following along as I am doing things, you should have organized your website domain name and you should have received notification that it is ready to go. Now what do you do????? Well now you need to organize where you are going to actually host your website.

Website hosting is like renting some space. You need to rent some space for your website. There are hundreds of different hosting companies out there. I am sure all have their good and bad points. Some are cheap, some are expensive. I suggest doing your research and working out the best company that suits your needs.

As usual I am a good little student and actually joined the hosting company I was recommended to join, however I did do my research first before making that decision. The main websites I was looking at were Go Daddy, Hostgator, Blue Host and I was recommended to D9Hosting.

I ended up choosing D9Hosting for a few reasons. The first being because they were very competitive with what they offered compared to the others, but the main reason I chose D9Hosting was because the people that own D9Hosting had been apart of John Thornhill’s network of coaching for the last 4 years.

Master Class Week One!

Hello Fellow Newbie Internet Business People,

OK. So it is now time for you to learn as I do!!! I have just completed watching my videos from my week one training from John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass and am about to share with you what I have learned and what I have done.

Inside our coaching area, John has made it so easy to maneuver around. Each document is in order and he has explained how we need to read our handout and checklist first and then watch the videos in order and try to do the exercises in order. It is all very step by step and basic in explanation. The first video we were sent talked about buying a domain name.

Question what is a domain name? It is that little address you type in to your browser when you want to go to a website address. It is the name of the website address, like naming business. One of the first things we were advised to do was to register our own name sake. The reason being is that if we have any success online with our business people will start to recognise you.

Starting My Coaching!

Hello Fellow Newbie Internet Business People,

It is already February of 2009. The year is already moving along! OK so I finally posted the rest of my online beginnings story. At the time I felt like I was writing a biography, although I do feel it is important for you to know that I am beginning from the beginning! I am a complete newbie to all of this and am fumbling my way along just like you.

So to let you know what I have been doing the last couple of months (other than the Christmas silly season) since starting this blog. I have been slowly working through John Thornhill’s Personal Coaching Program, and to tell you the truth I am only about three quarters of the way through it.

Well as of this week John has started his new Marketing Masterclass Coaching Program. And as my luck has it I have been fortunate enough to get a place in this program so I have decided to write about it in detail as I do it so you can learn as I do.

Ebays Policies Changed What do I do Now?

Hello All,

I am nearly up to now with my story. So to continue on….. :D

By March 2008 I had read quite a few ebooks and newsletters on internet marketing and was slowly starting to understand the basics about selling digital items on the internet, however I still didn’t understand a lot of it, like to exact how to step by step. I guess I was getting information overload and had no idea where to begin or how to begin! :|

At the same time eBay decided to change its policies about selling digital downloads so I could no longer sell my little spray tan manual on line. I freaked at the time as I was selling quite a few a week, however having moved house and my daughter had been diagnosed with a condition that possibly needed surgery I didn’t worry too much about it all and let the business go.

When eBay changed their policies we were given a months notice so during that time I bought everything I could get my hands on, on eBay re ebooks, websites and selling online. Now I have folders and folders on my hard drive of books I haven’t even read. I bought re sell packages etc. Some stuff I have no idea what I bought as long as it was to do with ebooks and online marketing I bought it.

The Birth Of My Baby & The Birth Of My Little Ebook…

Continuing on with my story…… :)

I am starting to think I am writing a biography!! Actually with the detailed story of my life I definitely think that would be an interesting one, however that is another time and another definitely another place! ;)

The week of the birth of my child was also the week I sold my first little ebook on eBay. The last few weeks of my pregnancy I researched about ebooks and discovered that selling a book as a PDF version was the best way to sell the file. A PDF is able to be read on both Macintosh and PC format. As I already had my manual on a word document format turning it into a PDF was easy once I had the software.

During the first few months of my little ones new life all I sold on eBay was my manual as an ebook. I averaged between 5-10 sales per weeks at $15 each so it wasn’t a great income but it was a start. But the hours that went into earning that $15 each was about 5 minutes! I had already spent the hours creating the manual all I had to do was answer emails and send emails. This was perfect. I was still able to earn a little income and knew that I could concentrate on being a mum!
