Creating My Business Online – October’s Daily Tasks!

Hello All,

It has been a month since I have written a Daily Tasks post. Some of you know that I have been in a bit of a pickle the last few weeks having had my computer be riddled with virus so I thought I would write a summary of the last month instead. :D

Truthfully……..I have been a little slack on the blog side over the last month. Life got in the way a little bit and my little one decided to give up the afternoon naps. Bugger Bugger Bugger :( I used to get quite a bit of work done when she slept in the afternoon. Plus me being slack this month didn’t write down what I have been doing!

So here is my list of tasks I have achieved over the last month in creating my internet business.

October’s Daily Tasks

  1. Visited fellow student and internet marketers blogs.
  2. Downloaded my membership quota from Resell Rights Fortune for September and October. (I have a lifetime membership which means I have access to the monthly training, although I haven’t had a chance to do that yet. I have downloaded the training, just need to find the time to focus on it! :| , plus I can download 90 products a month.)
  3. Updated my private label rights product database. (I wrote a post a few months ago regarding all the products I had found on my computer. My intention was to create a catalog of databases of all the products, so far I have completed the private label one. I have nearly 600 products!!!. Next I want to write up the Master Resell rights list. Doing these lists has helped me eliminate the doubled up products as well as going through them and deleting the trash products and only keeping what looks to be good.)
  4. Downloaded my membership products from PLR Monthly for October and November.
  5. Downloaded my weekly internet marketing training from John Thornhill’s Masterclass. (We have received up to week 38 now. I think I am up to @ Week 24 in my actual studies, just a little bit behind! :( )
  6. Downloaded my monthly online training from Thirty Day Challenge Plus. (I signed up to this training December last year, I haven’t had a chance to do much with it, however the content is excellent. I do plan on doing the study soon. :) )
  7. Backed up my computer, did virus scans and discovered I had a virus problem. (I have no idea how or where I got it from! :( However like I said in my last post, it is all fixed now, Yippy! :D )
  8. Set up a Google Reader account and listed everyone’s blogs on Google Reader so I can be notified every time their websites are updated. (I learned this technique through the Thirty Day Challenge training. I should have set it up months ago! I has saved me heaps of time in my blogging travels. :) )
  9. Started learning about website security due to learning about websites being hacked. (I have learnt of a few really cool plugins you can add to your website to improve your security. I am still learning about them so when I am confident with them I will write more.)
  10. Wrote up summaries to my transcribed notes from John Thornhill’s Masterclass training ready for writing posts. (I have summarized up to Week 22 now, so I can get back to posting the summaries very soon.)
  11. Set up a website called www.jadsbeautyspot.com with the new program that John Thornhill and Dave Nicholson created called Multi Profit Websites. (I love the system, its awesome. I have heaps of ideas for future sites, just got some more stuff I want to do here first. :P )

And other than the usual emails, facebook and twitter stuff, that pretty much summarizes what I can remember over the last month.

Having the virus happen taught me another lesson about running an internet business. Even though I have a virus protector program, I have discovered that it isn’t enough. Hackers and virus creators can still get through. I think I now have 4 different programs on my computer I have to use every week to keep my system optimized and protected.

As of today I will be writing down my daily tasks again and plan on giving a weekly/fortnightly summary. I believe writing the tasks gives acknowledgment to the little tasks we do in developing and creating a business. I am sick of hearing about the Guru’s who make millions overnight and forget to explain they have done years of tedious tasks in building their business to get to that point where they are making the big dollars.

So that is it for last months Daily Tasks. Now I will get back to posting my summaries from my masterclass training and continue posting about cool stuff I come across in my blogging travels.

So Until Next Time…………

Enjoy Your Learning!

  1. Hi Jacinta,

What a month! No wonder you’ve found blog post writing hard to fit in! Nice to catch up with your news though. Hope November calms down a bit!

    Hi Mandy,

Yes October has been a bit of a month. :| I guess that is what happens when we have family and life circumstances as well as studying. There is only so much we can do! ;)

The best thing is to just roll with it and make the best of it. :)

Hope all is going well. Thank you for popping by!

See you on your blog soon!

  2. Hi Jacinta,

It seems October has been a bit of slack month allround then, I’ve not been very well throughout last month, and a recent throat infection I had seems to have given me a chest infection. :(

I’m not letting it get me down too much though, I’m just working through it and plan to get myself off to the doctors very soon.

Despite it being a slack month for you, you still seem to have got a fair amount done though.

I need to add everyones blog on Google Reader too, I’m sure it saves you a lot of time, I’ll add it to my “to do” list. ;)

I’ll visit you over here again soon!

    Hi Paul,

Yes October was a difficult month, hopefully this one will be a little better. Since my little one has decided to give up her avo sleeps I have had to adapt and try and work out when I am going to get study time in.

Google Reader is excellent and does save heaps of time, howver it isn’t just for having everyone’s blogs signed up, you can also use Reader to research feeds from forums, or news sites etc etc so it can be good for researching keywords for creating products etc. Plus if you use Google Alerts as well, it can save heaps of time.

Having everyone’s blog feeds signed up has saved me heaps of time. Before I was visiting everyone’s blogs everyday, now I only visit when a new post is made. All you have to do is login in to your Google Reader account and you will see who has updated and who hasn’t.

You should definitely put it on your to do list! See you on your blog soon!

  3. Very busy as usual I see! So what are you using to create your databases? I have a heap of stuff that’s sucking up all my hard drive space and I need to back it up somewhere, but it would be nice to know of a good way to “catalog” it all :)

I’ll check back with you soon

    Hi Gwen,

I use “access database”, it is a program that is part of Microsoft Office. I have had to manually set up it and do the data entry. I created the fields eg: Product name, type of product, location (folder the file is found in), and then I took note if the product was plr/mrr/rr etc and its rules. I checked each product individually and read their licenses. It was a tedious process over the last month and took quite a few hours, however now that it is set up, it is easy to maintain and update. The next database I have to do is for all the MRR products I have.

The best thing about doing this process is that when you have a quick glance at the product and license you can tell if it is worth keeping or not. I actually found quite a bit if junk I was able to eliminate doing this.

If you don’t have Microsoft, open office should have a database program. the only bugger is that you have to manually set it up and create the template you want.

I hope all is going well. I will see you on your blog soon!

PSST…By the way …your site loads very slowly each page I went to. Might want to find out why! Lots of reasons that can happen :-)
From too many plugins to..too many large photo and graphics files.
Might consider using less tower ads and go to smaller 125 X 125′s
    PEACE

    Hi Craig,

Thank you for popping by! I have noticed my site loading slowly at times and then really quick other times. I think it is the websites I link to. Not sure. I host the images myself, but yes I could try the smaller images and see what happens. Thanks for the input.

I will see you on your blog soon!
