Email Marketers: Who Do We Trust?

Hello All,

How has everyone been over the last week?? Good I hope!! :D

This week I have been very proud of myself. I have done a heap of work my eyes feel like they are hanging out of my head!!

In this post I want to talk about internet marketers however first things first…..

My weekly task checklist:

Over the past week here is a list of the tasks I have done:

  1. Downloaded all of the Thirty Day Challenge training. I am still only up to watching Day 17 however that is the best thing about this training is that you can refer to it in your own time.
  2. Downloaded Week 30 of John Thornhill’s Masterclass Coaching. Again I haven’t watched past week 28, I plan on catching up this week.
  3. Downloaded some products from Resell Rights Fortune. This is an excellent database for private label, resell rights and master resell rights products.
  4. Rejoined up with PLR Monthly and downloaded Augusts products.
  5. Visited some of my fellow students blogs and made some comments. I am really enjoying the fact that we are all learning together and we are all helping each other and encouraging each other in our growth online.
  6. Made some changes to my blog. I added in my little “Introducing the author.” I was so proud of myself when I did this. I actually had to do some HTML coding and changes! Luckily I had a video made from Daniel Sumner from our coaching program that I could refer to, However it worked after 5 attempts and I was doing a very big happy dance when it did work!
  7. I added in the Amazon widget and Paydotcom widget in the sidebar. Again I did a big happy dance. Html is quiet scary when you don’t know what you are doing, however if you take it slowly and follow the instructions you can work it out.
  8. I spent a day helping a close friend learn about setting up a blog online. I have always loved teaching people and helping people and one day I do hope I can teach people what I am learning now. One of my favourite jobs in my past was teaching teenage girls at Beauty college.
  9. Read through nearly 3,000 emails from various internet marketers that I had downloaded but not looked at since my hard drive crashed the last week of June!

Now I am at the point of my post! 2,670 emails in 2 months!!!!!! OMG :o

I just worked out I am on over 100 different marketers lists. I am an internet marketers dream!!

Since my hard drive crashed in June over the last 2 months I have mainly concentrated on my studies and re setting my computer up. The emails have been piling up and I thought I would eventually get around to them. Well it took me the whole %^&* weekend!!! :x

I have deleted nearly 3/4 of them. Most of the stuff that people have been sending me is absolute crap!! Most were just a pitch for the next greatest product just trying to get my money. However being the studious person I am I scanned every single one of the emails and went to the links and checked everything out.

The one thing I will say is most people are trying to sell you the same thing. The next guru’s latest and greatest product adding in their bonuses trying to out do each other!

So many of these email marketers are promoting products that they haven’t even tried themselves! And most of these marketers are just trying to get your money lets be truthful and honest about this!

There are quiet a few marketers that for every 10 emails they send you maybe one might actually be an email with some actual content in it.  Some of the marketers are only selling in every single email!! (I could name some big guru’s here!)

I have now deleted myself from most of these marketers although I have stayed on a couple of people’s lists just to see what they are doing.

Now for the important learning lesson to all of this:

“Reading all those emails over the weekend has taught me the type of internet marketer I want to be.”

What I did notice reading the emails is that a lot of them lacked valuable content. Although these people were claiming that they wanted to help you they weren’t really, they were just trying to sell.

Over the last 12 months I have followed quiet a few internet marketers closely and the ones that give out the most content and truly try and help you are the ones that are the most successful.

Here is a list of the marketers I like so far:

These people are my top mentors:

John Thornhill, Holly Mann, Brett Mcfall, Ed Dale & Tracy Repchuk.

And these people I also have a great respect for. They give great content and I am still on their lists:

Lee McIntyre, Stuart Stirling, Randy Smith, Craig Johnson, Alex Sysoef, Dan Thompson, David Rey, Dymphna Boholt, Frank Kern, John Gian, Gabor Olah, Justin Sabo, John Reece, Jeff Johnson, Kerrie Sheehan, Dr Lisa Van Allen, Omar Martin, Paula Brett, Cheryle Richardson, David Nicholson, Daniel Sumner, Socrates Socratous, Phil Eugene & Phillip Brewer.

I am on quite a few more (only because I am watching if they will improve at all) but the above people are the ones that don’t try and sell you every time you get an email from them. They always send emails with great advice, access to free training and much more. It isn’t just the free stuff they give, it is also about their honesty and integrity as a marketer that I like as well. Most of the time I end up buying something from these people.

Did you notice I have left out some of the big Guru’s? That is because they have only tried to sell to me the last six months and nothing more!!!!!!!

I have learned two important lessons over the weekend:

  1. The type of teacher and marketer I want to be and…
  2. You can always unsubscribe.

I believe in giving everyone a chance to prove themselves worthy of me being on their list (I will often stay on their list for at least 6 months). However if they are only going to try to sell to me and nothing more then I am gone.

I plan on being the type of internet marketer that wants to teach you because I love teaching. One that gives away what they learn and not keep their secrets under wraps. A marketer that loves learning and sharing. A marketer that is accessible, helpful, inspiring and encouraging. I hope to be all those things.

I am a big believe in the law or Karma and the law of Reciprocity and hence it is not in my nature to be anything else but what I have described as the type of marketer I want to be.

Once again I have rambled and written a very long post. I do hope you have found my info helpful and if you ever have any questions I am only a comment away.

So until next time…I have to go pick up the little one from playgroup.

Only trust the marketers that honestly want to teach you….

Jacinta :)

  1. Hi Jacinta, brilliant post. I love your philosophy about teaching because you love it and not necessarily for rewards. I have just been away to help save a herd of horses. I went freely with no expectations of any rewards. The result was that the herd owner allowed me to spend precious time with her herd after the work was done and I gained more from that than I felt I gave. It was magical. See if you can spot me – http://www.worldofwhispers.com. The pics of the herd being moved are already on there.

    Enjoy the journey.

    Hi Mandy,

I was just reading your post about your experience. It sounds like it was life changing. I do believe if we are passionate and enjoy what we do that the rewards naturally come.

    You are enjoying the journey!
