Introducing Internet Marketer – Social Media Twitter Queen – Milli Ponce!
Hello All,
I am a little confused as to where do I begin with this post here, as I actually feel I am only half way through what I want to tell you, however if I wait this post will be next week away!
So here is a quick summary of the last week:
I listened to an interview with Milli Ponce last Friday & got excited about Twitter!
I then got a bee in my bonnet and decided to go through Dave Nicholson’s program “Tweet Dynamite” and do that course over the weekend.
(9 videos to watch and take notes on!)
The last couple of days I have been implementing Dave’s course.
(I will write about this experience in next weeks post as I am still half way through the process.
)
Now back to Milli Ponce!
Like I said earlier, last week I listened to a @27 minute interview between Brett McFall & Milli Ponce. This interview was actually done to promote the “World Internet Traffic Summit” back in August.
Yes, it has taken me this long to get around to listening to it!
However in saying that, I am so glad I did because I was just starting to think about learning more about Twitter.
Now being the good little bimbo I am I took a whole heap of notes that I am about to summarise for you.
So like last weeks interview with Roy Carter I have a link where you can go and download the interview for yourself or just read through my notes below.
Introducing Internet Marketer Milli Ponce
Milli Ponce – How To Master Twitter & Facebook!
(Click on that link above if you want to listen to the interview yourself, or just read through my notes below!
The interview goes for @27 minutes. You will find the audio interview link underneath the welcome video.)
In this interview Brett McFall & Milli Ponce discus,
“How You Can Use Social Media To Your Advantage”
The first part of the interview Brett asks Milli about her back ground, who she is and how she came about doing internet marketing.
Her story is actually quite interesting.
She was born and raised in Peru to a very wealthy family. Her father was a very successful entrepreneur and Milli never went with out anything.
She never had to work or worry about money until the age of 24 when her father went bankrupt and lost everything!
(Now that would have been a huge shock to the system!
A life of money and then nothing! Although I do believe everything happens for a reason for us to learn from.)
After completing her studies in the UK and discovering her family had no more money, she actually had to go out into the real world and get a job!
(Sorry Milli but yes that would have been a ‘Welcome To The Real World’ type of experience!)
After floating around for a couple of years from job to job, she realised she wanted more in life and decided to pursue the path of becoming an entrepreneur like her father.
Milli wanted to give her father his life back!
(This I like! To be motivated by giving back to others!
)
So like many of us Milli jumped online and researched and researched! She found a simple course on Twitter and went from there.
She studied the course, implemented the steps, learned some more, studied other businesses and their techniques.
Went to an internet marketing seminar, found a mentor, paid the money she could and FOCUSED!
Had lots and lots of insomnia nights and never gave up!
(I can relate to that!
)
A couple of years later and I guess you could say now, the rest is history, as she is well respected as one of the world’s authorities on marketing and using social media strategies.
So now the question is:
What Is Social Media?
According to Milli,
Social media is the communication between 2 people or more. A media to socialise with! For example; a tv, mail/post, telephone etc etc.
Different ways to communicate.
In order to be successful in using social media we need to understand how social networks work! It doesn’t matter if it is Twitter, Facebook, Myspace etc etc.
It is important to understand the strategies that you can use to market with these networks.
According to Milli most large companies are now dedicating @60% of their marketing budget on Social Media, using websites such as Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, LinkedIn, Myspace and more.
People use social networks and these types of sites as ways to communicate with each other and share information. They share their hobbies, their likes, their dislikes, what they are looking for, ideas etc etc etc.
According to Brett,
“Humans naturally want to socialise, they want to interact, and the internet allows this to happen.”
Nowadays companies no longer have to worry about doing extensive market research as most of these sites have all the information already available to them.
All these companies have to do is offer what the people are looking for!
So then the next questions are:
“How can using Social Media be turned into a business? Can it be done? And How do I do it?”
According to Milli, the easy way to promote products and start making money online is being an affiliate to a company and promoting their products.
If you don’t have a business online, but you want to build a business online then promoting products from websites such as Clickbank, Paydotcom etc is one of the easiest ways to start.
Milli suggests to look for products that have affiliate tools that you can use down the track such as banners, emails, graphics etc.
One of the other important points Milli makes is that she believes we should test the product first. This way we know that the product is good that we are promoting and we can actually give our own testimonial about it!
(I completely agree with Milli here! I only promote products that I have actually used, read, been to and bought. I have never promoted a product that I have not experienced in some way and never will!
This often means I won’t promote launch products, because if I can’t actually experience the product I won’t promote it.
)
Now here is a golden nugget of the interview!
Milli says we need to have more than one Twitter account!
We should have 10-15 Twitter accounts!
(OMG, until last weekend I only had 1, now I have 2!
Still got to work on this one!)
Having multiple Twitter accounts in multiple niches is the fast track secret to making money using Twitter!
One of the fast track tools Milli uses is a website called ‘Refollow’.
According to Milli this website allows you to use keywords to help find people talking about a particular subject and then the idea is to follow them and build up your followers that you can then slowly promote a product to.
Milli says to promote to your followers successfully is to tweet your link as if you are promoting to a friend.
The next Social Media tool that is important to master is using Facebook in combination with Twitter!
Milli suggests that we should have a like page (also known as a fan page) and place an optin form in a profile box where we can give something away to encourage people to sign up to our mailing list.
She also suggests that we create a group for the product we are promoting, a group for ourselves as an expert within the niche and to actually create a group for the niche as well! (3 Groups plus a fan/like page!)
For Example:
If our niche is cooking Mediterranean style.
We should have a twitter account related to cooking Mediterranean, a fan/like page on the niche, a facebook group on the product we are promoting, and a group on the niche ‘Mediterranean Cooking’.
Plus we should have our own facebook fan/like page and group for ourselves as the expert.
Milli suggests to share the affiliate link at least once a day as our accounts grow.
The next golden nugget!
One of the tricks that we can use to grow our facebook profile quickly is to join at least 30 groups of more than 2,000 members in our chosen niche. We should accept everyone that requests our friendship plus the people that facebook suggests to us as well.
According to Milli if we use these tactics we can grow our facebook profile to 5,000 friends with in 2-3 months.
Now here is the big gold nugget!
We can download every single contact from our Facebook accounts!
(Instant mailing list!
)
According to Milli ‘Facebook’ and ‘LinkedIn’ allow you to export and download your contacts. This means you can upload them into your autoresponder and add them to your mailing list!
And on a final note, Milli says;
“To build our business we need to build our database! The more strategies we use the faster our business grows!”
OK So Back To Me!
What do you think?
Pretty good tips and tricks huh!
This interview completely motivated me to learn more about Twitter very quickly!
Since listening to the interview. I have gone through Dave Nicholson’s course ‘Tweet Dynamite’ and started implementing and experimenting with some of the strategies.
(I will write more about Dave’s course hopefully next week as I actually feel he needs to update it. 3 of the videos the tactics and websites have changed. I am now doing some more research on equivalent tools to do the same strategies. I will keep you posted!
)
I hope you have enjoyed my summary of Milli Ponce’s interview with Brett McFall.

Hey Jacinta
Yeah I love Milli she really knows her social media marketing stuff.
She is also friendly and approachable which is always a nice trait in a Marketer.
Not tried Dave’s Tweet Dynamite, so look forward to hearing what you have to say about it.
Thing is, social media marketing changes so much so you really gotta be on top of it, one minute they allow something, next minute they don’t ha ha.
I already set up a LinkedIn profile after watching her speak at the Internet Millionaire Summit, because I was intrigued by the email export function she mentioned, and you mentioned in this post.
Thanks for sharing,
Sally

Hello Miss Sally,
I agree! I like Miss Milli too!
Couldn’t agree more on the approachable side. I actually had Mr Roy Carter visit me after my last audio interview review.
Got a bit of a surprise! You are right, really friendly guy also! I think he is speaking at the “World Internet Summit” this weekend in London.
Re Dave’s Tweet Dynamite. # of the strategies he uses in the videos have changed. EG Social Oomph has changed, so has Twollo and one other technique as well.
I think he needs to update the program slightly. I have half set up the system, but need to find some other tools that can do the strategies that have changed.
I have a bit of a bee in my bonnet as a friend has asked me about setting up her twitter accounts for her business, plus her facebook ones, so this is good learning for me.
Plus if I get it all down pat I will start charging offline businesses for the service. It isn’t that hard once you know how. I just want to stick with the free services at the moment.
I haven’t set up the LinkedIn profile for me yet. Will get there eventually!
I agree on the export function! I had a bit of a light bulb moment then.
It matches in with what Nic Lucas said in his interview about our lists can incorporate Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, Myspace etc etc. Even though most of these contacts might not actually be on our Aweber mailing lists, they are still classified as lists.
Got me really intrigued on the whole social media side of things as well.
So much to learn!!
I will keep you posted on my twitter experiences. I have a few ideas I want to explore with it in a couple of trial niches just for fun, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Just another strategy for us MM’s to use down the track!
Hope everything is slowly slowing down for you.
Speak on skype soon!
Cheers
Jacinta
P.S Got to go to the dentist again soon! Aaaagh!!

Very Interesting Jacinta, I think I also have ‘Tweet Dynamite’ somewhere on my computer, but now I can wait for your review.
I suspected that multiple accounts were needed for Twitter, concentrating on each niche, but that sounds like a lot of work to keep everything updated?
Good tip about Facebook and Linkedin, allowing us to download contact lists.
Pity Twitter doesn’t allow this, as the lists would be more valuable from a targeted niche. My background is in direct mail, and I have an itch to get back into it.
I look forward to reading about your Twitter experiences Jacinta. I will probably end up copying whatever you do.

Hi John,
Thank you for popping by!
Yes I will be doing a review on Dave’s course within the next few posts. Some of the strategies that he teaches the websites have changed so I have to search for relevant tools to do the same job.
I think he will need to update the course and provide the new tools needed as 3 of the websites he teaches have changed out of the 9 videos.
Yes I had a bit of an ‘Aahaa’ moment on learning about Facebook and LinkedIn’s policy on being able to download our contacts.
I never knew of that!
Social Media is a really powerful marketing tool of the future and now and I don’t think it is one we can ignore if we want to grow our businesses online.
I am having fun learning about it all at the moment.
I will keep you posted on what I learn!
Hmmm Who knows, there could be a product in this for me. Just got to learn how to create Camtasia videos!
Hope all is going well.
Cheers

Hi Jacinta,
You are really getting into these interviews. I am slowly playing the game over at Twitter. Still a big learning process.
I use Socialoomph for a little automation but just the free version for now. There are so many angles you can go at in Internet Marketing it’s just good to try and stick with one thing at a time.
Which I am terrible with. I only have one account so need to look into getting many more.
Cheers

Hi Craig,
Thank you for popping by!
I completely agree with you in regards to getting side tracked! I am always doing that!
I am only using the free versions to the tools. I think that is the best way as we are learning. Plus I think learning all the free tools teaches us to be a little more savvy with our marketing.
I wasn’t really interested in Twitter until last week. A friend of mine asked me about setting up her twitter accounts and how could she automate them.
So I listened to Milli’s interview, found Dave’s course on my hard drive that I got last year (yes I am a bit slow!) and got motivated.
I have learned half the process, hopefully by the weekend I will have sourced some other free tools that can be used to implement the strategies that both Milli and Dave are talking about.
If I get it sorted fairly easily, then I should be able to help other offline businesses set up their own twitter accounts and automate the process, plus charge for the service!
It isn’t that hard once you know how, just takes a little time to get it set up.
Speaking of which I had better get back to my learning!
Hope everything is going well.
See you on your blog soon!
Cheers

Hi Jacinta…
Admittedly Milli is new to my list of Internet marketers but from the sound of it she really knows her stuff. I am in a bit of a hurry this morning but when I get home I am going to read over this very carefully and implement some of what I am missing like LinkedIn.
I already use Tweet Dynamite…I’ve been using it since it launched. I remember going back to try and change something recently and had problems with one of the programs he told us to use.
I will be watching for your review as possibly it was just me that day
By the way…other than that one glitch that I ran into…this has really taken care of my Twitter account. What I need to do though is pay more attention on a personal basis and leave more personal tweets…
Thanks Jacinta…good stuff as usual.

Hi Kathy,
Thank you for popping by!
I have been an absolute twitter nut this week!
I have gone through Dave’s course and a few websites have changed their rules. Social Oomph won’t allow you to find followers unless you pay, Twollow is now a paid service as well.
However in my learning process I have discovered a few other interesting sites that can be used with twitter, such as HootSuite, etc.
I have decided to run a little experiment in my spray tanning niche and see what happens. I also have a couple of other niches I want to test after the spray tanning to see what happens as well.
I have combined Dave’s course and basically put the process on steroids so to speak!
I am really curious to see the results as well.
I will keep you posted!
I am not going to worry about setting up the LinkedIn at the moment, purely because I am really focused on working this whole twitter concept out.
I have had a few light bulb moments, that is for sure!
Hope everything has been going well.
See you on your blog soon!
Cheers

Hi Jacinta:
Fantastic review. I listened to the interview on Mili, and have since gone on to research other interviews on her. I found one on SocialDivaMarketing.com. (Yes, guys can read that blog too!!!)
(:puffs chest out and scowls in a manly-man fashion.)

Aaanyway.
I’ve been using Tweet Adder to grow my followers…
But I’m also going to employ Mili’s strategy of having multiple accounts.
One thing I’ve noticed about these courses is that if you don’t implement what you learn right away, chances are you won’t implement them.
Cheers!

Hi Bolaji,
How Cool! I have to go to the dentist soon so I wont get to listen to the interview until I get back.
Thank you for sharing the link.
Yes I agree on Milli’s suggestion on using multiple accounts, especially if you can automate all the features and basically set them up and monitor them.
I think this is where the Tweet Adder membership of the unlimited accounts comes in to play and would probably be a good investment.
I completely agree if we don’t implement what we learn as we learn chances are we wont implement the strategies at all.
I have done that in the past.
That is why I made another promise to myself recently that unless the purchase was business related and I was going to use the purchase straight away, no more bells and whistles product buys for me anymore!
I am enjoying learning about Twitter at the moment. It has been a refreshing change from doing JT’s coaching course.
I hope everything is going well.
See you on your blog soon!
Cheers

Hi Jacinta,
I have Twitter but I don’t use it, not very often. Maybe I should start twittering every to try and get more followers. You’ve an excellent blog. You left a message on my other blog, this one is with Mr Thornhill. I am now on Week 12, Product Creation. Looking forward to releasing my first product.
Talk soon.

Hi Donald,
Thank you for popping by!
Congrats on getting to week 12! Stay focused and stay positive, even if you find you get stuck a little. The product creation section is where quite a few people fall off the band wagon.
I know I did the very first time I did John’s course in 2008.
I am learning a heap about Twitter at the moment. It is an amazing communication tool, and the business potential is HUGE!
Hope all is going well.
See you on your blog soon!

10-15 twitter accounts is crazy, i think it is ok to have a few if you want to brand yourself a few ways, but you don’t want to water it down that much do you? it seems like it would be harder to focus your efforts.

Hi Daniel,
I agree 10-15 accounts is crazy!
However in saying that 10-15 accounts in different micro niches that all make you a little money or drive traffic to different affiliate products you may promote in different niches is not a silly idea.
Hope everything is going well. Thank you for popping by!

Jacinta
Thanks for the post on social media.
The post was very helpful to me.
What I wanted to say here is Twitter has now become a great place to promote your products and services, whether you are into small or large business you can take benefit of Twitter greatly but before that you have to learn well.
What I do for learning is I visit forums and blogs and I discuss my doubts there and I get lots of ideas and tips to handle the situation well.

Hi Alex,
Thank you for popping by! :rmgreen:
I think Twitter is still growing and hasn’t reached it’s full potential yet. People and businesses are just discovering its power.
Forums are an excellent way to meet fellow marketers and learn a heap. Plus most people are really willing to help in forums.
Happy New Year!
