January’s Daily Tasks!
Hello All,
Since it is the first week of February I thought I had better give you a daily tasks post to let you know what I have been doing the last few weeks. I didn’t end up doing a December daily tasks, the Xmas season got a little hectic for me and before I knew it, it was the middle of January.
If you have been reading my blog posts the last few weeks you can see that I was promoting John Thornhill’s new internet marketing masterclass coaching program for 2010. Well that promotion has finished and as far as I am aware I had 2 people sign up through my link!
I am really looking forward to helping them through this next course as teaching is something I would really like to do again one day. My favourite jobs in my past was teaching. I have taught spray tanning, artificial nails, small business management and dancing. It seems that everything I do I end up teaching. I like passing on what I learn.
This year John has allowed us old students access to the course as well which will make it easier to help others, and thanks to my nagging, he has introduced transcripts of the videos so I am very happy about that!
Going back and forward through the videos trying to do the steps and stopping and starting around my little one was quite hard last year so I am really glad the transcripts have been introduced.
I have also been very busy this last month really trying to organize myself and setting myself a time schedule. Now that my little one has given up afternoon sleeps I am finding I am not sitting at the computer in longer daily blocks anymore and instead I am doing an hour here and an hour there. I have now written myself a list of the weekly tasks I need to do and try to mark them off as I do them so I don’t get side tracked.
So without further comment here is the list to my daily tasks for January 2010.
January’s Daily Tasks:
- My usual daily email download. (I still need to cull myself from a few more lists. Truthfully I don’t believe I need to be on so many marketers lists anymore as most of them are just promoting the same stuff and a lot of them are not delivering a lot of content.)
- My usual Twitter and Facebook activity (I use Twitter for promoting my blog at this stage. I still have to watch and read Dave Nicholson’s Tweet Dynamite yet that we were given as part of our masterclass training. I plan on doing that training soon. Facebook is what I use to communicate with friends and family.)
- I downloaded my membership products from PLR Monthly (I like PLR Monthly. They have produced some great products I am still yet to use! Another job for this year!
) - I downloaded my membership products from Resell Rights Fortune (Resell Rights Lifetime membership was well worth the money I spent. Since I signed up last June I have been able to download over 800 products! Got to love that!
) - I downloaded my membership products from 30DCplus (I am really looking forward to getting stuck into watching this training. I have been a member for the last year but haven’t really been able to focus on it due to focusing on John’s course.
However in saying that if I hadn’t focused on one training course at a time I do not believe I would have the knowledge I do now! Focus is the key!
) - I finally finished creating my email course for my spray tanning website and uploaded and installed it ready to go. (I just need to change the sales page to include it, however if you would like to sign up and have a look at it, check this link out here: “The 7 Secrets To Successful Spray Tanning”)
- I added in all my website legals to my spray tanning website. (It is important to have your disclaimers on your websites in order to comply with international laws. If you are not able to go to an internet lawyer and get documents made, there are some software programs that can be used to help you out that are easy to use. You can check out my legals at www.spraytanningsuccess.com and look at the bottom of the page!
) - I removed some plugins from my website that were making it load really slow. (I removed the quote of the day, twitter friends, and pretty link plugins. I do plan on removing more as I discover which ones are causing problems.)
- I re-sized some of my advertising banners to smaller ones to my sidebar is starting to look more even. ( I was starting to think my sidebar was looking a little cluttered)
- I removed my amazon sidebar widget. (Truthfully I have not earned a thing from the widget in nearly a year so I figured it a waste of space plus it was really slowing down my loading time. I also plan on removing adsense soon as well. I just checked my figures and it isn’t worth having on here!)
- I wrote a few more training posts to last years training program. Week 19, Week 20, & Week 21 (I still have another @ 16 more posts to write on the course to get ready for an onslaught as I really try to finish this series!
) - I promoted the new John Thornhill Internet Marketing Master Class Training Program for 2010. (The course is now closed for the year. John has taken on 160 new students. I do hope they get as much out of it as I did. I used my blog, Twitter and Facebook to promote the program plus I made a new site dedicated to the training.)
- I created a new site dedicated to promoting John’s training program. www.johnthornhillmasterclasstraining.com (This site only took me a day to create! I was really proud of myself once I completed it and uploaded it. It showed me that you can create websites quickly once you know how!
)
That is the main list so far!
Another project I have started this month is to start writing up notes to my “Easily Answered Membership”. About this time last year I signed up to “Easily Answered” for around $20 per month. The site is a great site in that it is a question and answers site. Members ask questions and experts answer them.
However the downfall is that everything is only available online, and the site is a little hard to navigate around. I have also noticed the site has gone quiet the last couple of months so I will be looking to cancel my membership, but before I do I want to write all the notes from all the questions and answers.
So far I have listened to over 2 hours worth of audio and written up to question 50, there are over 750 of them! I have a little while to go!
My aim is to get this done before the next subscription payment comes around. That means I have to listen to around 25 questions a day!
The other thing I spent time doing this month was that I was given free access to a new article writing product that is being promoted by a fellow student Craig Stringham called Niche Assassin.
This is a great product. I was lucky enough to be given access to his gold membership which has over 4 hours worth of videos on learning how to write articles, how to promote them, how to drive traffic using them and so so much more.
I was really worried about doing article marketing before I watched the videos. Now I am not. If you want to learn about article marketing these videos are worth getting and worth watching. I had to go back and forward and back and forward through them and took a heap of notes.
I loved the videos my mind was left boggled. The only thing I would have liked to see in the product is written transcripts of the videos as I really like notes to refer back to when I go to do the training steps. However in saying that I do believe the videos are well worth getting for the cheap price Craig is selling them at as I am now looking forward to getting stuck into writing articles for my spray tanning website!
OK so that is about it for the month of January. I was quite busy and really tried to get a lot done. The only problem is I had quite a few insomnia nights and now I think I am addicted to coffee!!
So until next time……..
Enjoy Your Learning!

Hi Michael,
Nice to meet you!
John has been a great teacher and mentor for the last 18 months. I have learned heaps from him. Now it is time for me to put it all into action.
I would like to be a coach in this industry eventually. I just have to complete one more certificate to be fully certified from a business coach point of view.
Hope to see you back here soon. I will pop over and say hello on your site.
Kind Regards
Jacinta

Hi Gwen,
Thank you for popping by!
Writing the list helps me realise that this business has a lot of little tasks and definitely does not happen over night.
The list also shows me what I have achieved when sometimes I don’t think I have done much.
See you on your blog soom!
Jacinta
Nice job on the blog + business…I have been at this blogging thing for only a short amount of time and can see the value at keeping at it at all times. Thank you for the business information and advice.

Hi Luke,
Nice to meet you and thank you for popping by!
I agree. It is important to keep at it, even if you only work on your business 10 minutes a day if you don’t have any other time. The point is to keep the momentum happening and eventually there will be the avalanche effect.
At the moment I am still a small snowball!
Hope you like the analogy! See you on your site soon!

Hi Jacinta,

Phew! Jacinta, I got exhausted just READING your ‘to do’ list. When I start going around in circles, I also make a list, and it’s really satisfying to tick things off. Congratulations on 2 sales for the Masterclass; that makes all your efforts worthwhile. Keep up the good work, you’re an inspiration for the rest of us.

Hi John,
Thank you for popping past!
I am exhausted half the time from my to do list!
The only thing that keeps me going is my daughter and also the knowledge that once all the systems for everything is in place the rest will slowly flow along. It is just time consuming getting the basics in place.
However I think we should look at building an internet business no different to building a house. We have to get the foundations in place!
See you on your blog soon!
Jacinta
P.S Are you loving the transcriptions this year? So far I have only had to have a read of this years training course.

Hi Johned,
Thank you so much for the kind words and the vote of confidence. Sometimes I am having my good days with this and then I have not so good ones, but I guess that is the whole process to creating a business whether it be online or offline.
One day at a time!!

Hi Kathy,
Thank you for popping by! :mgreen:
Like wise when I visit your blog. I learn heaps from you too!!
It is like an exchange of knowledge.
I was pleased for the 2 sign ups. Not from the commission side of things, but more for the marketing strategies that worked. Whats more is that I was trying to target for women/mums and that was who signed up so I was really pleased. My aim is to eventually help people like me!
See you on your blog soon.

Hi James,
Yes I did get through a lot of tasks for January and yes I have a heap to do this month. The year is moving along fast already!
One day and one hour at a time is my motto on all of this. Writing lists of tasks has been the best way for me to stay on track.
Thank you for popping by!

Wow, you really have been busy!! Sometimes feels like I must have about 800 products on my HDD too, Ive gradually been sorting through and categorising (sorting the wheat from the chaff!) so that I can actually use some of them productively.
Cant believe its half way through Feb already as have been neglecting my blog trying to get everything else done, still finding not enough hours in the day!! Think I need to publish my tasks lists so that I’m further accountable…
All the best

Hi Tom,
Thank you for popping by!
I can so relate to the oodles of products collecting dust on my hard drive. I wrote a list last night of all the products I have bought that I need to do and there are over 60 of them!
I was an internet marketers dream last year!
Publishing my monthly tasks has actually helped me achieve more! When I first started doing the daily tasks post back last July I did it mainly to work out what I was actually doing to help organise myself. It worked. I have found since doing these posts I am actually achieving more as I am writing and working through lists more!
I do recommend doing the lists even if you don’t want to post them, although posting what you have achieved does make you more accountable plus I have found writing my lists has been helping people write theirs from the feedback I have been receiving.
Definitely not enough hours in the day!! My moto this year is “One day, One hour at a time”. As long as I do something everyday even if it is just 10 minutes, it is still something towards achieving creating my business online!
See you on your blog soon!

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for popping by!
Good to see you are enjoying what you are doing with John’s course. Yes the support desk are very very helpful. And believe me there is no silly question. I used to ask some doozies!
I have been able to read the transcripts this year instead of having to watch all the videos again which is cool. Saves me a heap of time.
Bubba is going well, although it is a juggle trying to get study done around her.
