John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Master Class Coaching Program Week 15!

jtmaster

Hello All,

Welcome to Week 15 of John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Training Masterclass Coaching Program.

As you can see from my previous posts I have been a very busy blogger updating you with my masterclass training. I am really hoping to have the training posts completed over the next month so I can move on to the next series of attending internet marketing seminars and the speakers I have seen and learned from.

So much to do, so little time! especially now that little one has decided to give up the afternoon naps. I have had to get a bit more savvy and organised!

So with out any further rambling lets begin with this weeks tasks…….

Internet Marketing Masterclass Week 15: Increase The Value Of Our Product

This week is all about adding value to our ebook now that the final draft has been completed and we have had it reviewed. We were sent 3 videos to download and watch and our usual list of tasks and welcome letter.

Video 1: Adding Value To Our Product

In this video John suggests we try and add some sort of value to our ebook if possible. Adding value will help increase the curiosity for prospects to buy. Most people like the idea of “Value for money” and purchasing an ebook on the internet is no different to buying a piece of clothing. You want to know that you are getting value for money for what you are buying.

Adding value to an ebook can be done in a few different ways such as adding video, audio, worksheets, checklists, bonus products etc etc. The first thing we need to do is look at our ebook and consider how we could add value to it.

Is our product suitable to add audio to it?

One way to add audio is we could record ourselves reading our ebook. Having an ‘mp3′ version of our ebook would enable someone to listen on an ipod or record the ‘mp3′ to ‘cd’ and listen on their stereo or in their car etc.

Another way to add audio to the product is to interview an expert from our niche. If we are able to find an expert to interview or a couple of experts to interview we may find that they will promote our product as well. John recommends that the person we interview and ourselves both have the same rights to the recording, therefore if we want to give the audio away we can and so can the expert we interview.

Is our product suitable to add video to it?

Another way to add value to our product could be adding video. Adding companion video content to our ebook will definitely increase the perceived value of our product overall. Where we sell an ebook for $27-37 we could sell an ebook with video for $67. If our ebook is a ‘how to’ guide then adding video would be an excellent thing to do if possible.

If we can’t add video at this stage of the product for some reason then we can consider adding video later on and then increasing the price or our product or offering the videos as an up-sell to the ebook.

Is our ebook suitable to add worksheets or checklist to it?

Is our product a step by step guide? Adding worksheets are checklists are excellent companions for ebooks that talk about a step by step process. If we are instructing someone how to do things then it may be possible to portray the steps into a checklist or worksheet form.

What is the best way to add value to our product?

The best type of value we can add to our ebook is to add them all!

For example: We have an ebook, we have a series of audio interviews (which we also have transcribed), we have videos or camtasias of ‘how to’ (which we also have transcribed) and we have worksheets and checklists to complete the product. Depending on our niche, a product consisting of pdf’s, mp3 audios, videos, worksheets & checklists can easy sell for a minimum of $97. So the idea of adding value to our ebook is not as silly as it sounds. :D

Video 2: Adding Audio To Our Product

In this video John shows us how to add audio using ‘Windows Vista’. If we don’t have Vista (which i don’t :( ), then we can do a search for a free software to record audio from a website called www.download.com. The software needs to be able to record ourselves into our computer, for example if we are going to record ourselves reading our ebook.

In the case of adding audio by interviewing, John recommends we use a program called ‘Skype’. ‘Skype’ is a free software program that can download and used to talk to people over the internet. The calls do not cost any money as long as the person you are talking to also has ‘Skype’ connected. (You can download Skype from www.skype.com)

In order to record a ‘Skype’ call we also need to download another program called “Pamela Voice Recorder For Skype”. This program will record a ‘Skype’ voice call to mp3 format that we can then download and edit if need be later on. (The Pamela software can be downloaded from www.pamela.biz/)

Video 3: Adding Video To Our Product

In this video John shows us the video program that he uses to create his computer how to video’s. Most computer how to video’s are created with a software program called “Camtasia Studio”. Camtasia allows you to record video and audio of what you are doing on your computer. For example, showing someone how to use a piece of software. John doesn’t show us step by step how to use the software programs, however he does direct us to the tutorials that ‘Camtasia’ supply.

If our videos are more conventional, such as videoing ourselves actually doing something eg cooking etc, then we will need to have access to a video/dvd recorder camera and software that we can use to edit and format the videos. The bet thing is if we don’t know how to do this is if we know someone that can help us! ;)

(I want to make some videos for my spray tanning product soon and this is where I have come to a halt. I have to organise a camera, plus models etc etc and then try and learn how to edit etc etc. I did get a quote for someone to help me, but it is a little out of my price range at the moment.)

Week 15 Checklist:

Our checklist tasks for week 15 were:

  1. Think of ways to add value to our ebook
  2. Create and add audio if we can
  3. Create and add video if we can
  4. Create and add worksheets or checklists to our product if we can
  5. Visit the masterclass forum and communicate with our fellow students if we need help or suggestions
  6. Continue visiting fellow student and marketers blogs and comment where appropriate
  7. Continue posting to our blogs

OK so that is week 15 wrapped up.

So until next time……..

Enjoy Your Learning!

P.P.S John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Masterclass Coaching may be closed at the moment. He has just started the new 2010 program and he only ever takes a limited amount of students at a time so as to dedicate himself to our learning, basically it is a first in first served situation.

Update 10/4/2010: John has just released a one month $4.95 trial to Masterclass meaning you can sign up for $4.95 and trial the training. As far as I know he is limiting these places. If you see a sold out sign, then do sign up to be notified when there are new places available again.

This training program was the best decision I ever made. I would not be doing what I am today if it wasn’t for John. I can not recommend this program enough! :D

    Hi Ed,

Thank you for popping by!

That was my incentive, to give the readers a taste of the training course as well as create a really good quick reference summary.

I have actually used my summaries already to point readers to tasks.

I am still half way through your ebook. I have been focusing on pre writing the summaries the last 2 weeks.

Hope all is great. See you on your blog soon!

  2. Another very useful summary Jacinta, thanks. With your help I will be able to restart the Masterclass course, I couldn’t face watching all the videos, but I don’t have to now. :)

    Hi John,

Thank Your for popping by!

No Worries on the summaries! I have enjoyed doing them for my self as well. I have pre written drafts up to Week 22 which is the week I technically stopped. Week 22 is about creating email courses, so like a good little student after writing up the summary draft yesterday I am now half way through writing my email course! :D

Maybe I should type up the transcripts of the videos. I transcribed them word for word and sell them back to John. I wonder what he would think? :? I should be the offer in!

See you on your blog soon!
