Welcome to Week 16 of John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Training Masterclass Coaching Program.

So how is everyone going with reading my summaries? I do hope you are enjoying this process and you are getting a good idea of the steps you need to take to learn how to create your own product and start a business online.

I am enjoying writing these, not only for you, but also for me. Having these summaries on my blog will be a great reference for me in the future on the steps I need to take when I want to set up a new site or create a new product.

Right now we are at week 43 of what was meant to be a 36 week program and according to the email I received the other day we still have another 9 weeks of training to receive!

So far I have pre written summaries up to Week 22, I still have quite a few to go! So without further comment lets begin with this weeks tasks…….

Internet Marketing Masterclass Week 16: Final Product Creation Steps And Sales Page Preparation

This week we were sent our welcome letter for the week, our checklist and we had 3 videos to download and watch to learn what tasks we needed to do for the week.

Our training for this week was all about completing our product creation and preparing to create our sales page. We also scored another bonus product! John was able to organize a free copy of Randy Smith’s “Sales Letter ABC”. Randy is an experienced copywriter and his book is all about creating sales letters for ebooks. The ebook can be bought for $37 but for us being John’s masterclass students, we got access to it for FREE!

Video 1: Convert Ebook To PDF Document

In this video John shows us how to convert our ebook file from a word document from Open Office Writer to a PDF document. Microsoft word doesn’t have the PDF converter feature so unless we have ‘Adobe Acrobat’ or another PDF converter program, another option is to use the feature in the Open Office Writer software program.

We are shown:

1. How to open our ebook file in Open Office Writer
2. How to locate the PDF converter icon
3. How to save to file to PDF
4. How to find the converted saved PDF file on our computer
5. And how to test all the hyperlinks within the PDF file

Video 2: Arrange Our Product File And Folders

In order to stay organised John recommends we arrange our folders and files with in our Masterclass folder, such as organising our ebook, audio and video files into separate folders etc.

Having our folders itemised helps us to remain organised. ( Good in theory!! Organisation and time management are not my strong points!)

The next thing John talks about in this video is the importance of backing up our work.

Those of you who have been following me for a while would know that I have had 2 hard drive crashes in the last 12 months so YES I highly, highly recommend backing up your work! One of the tasks I do now, is to write a list of the tasks and files I have worked on whenever I am working at my computer. Yes this does take a little time, @5 minutes extra, however since doing this I find it so much easier to do a quick manual back up and very rarely do I end up with doubled files.

The last thing I want is to loose my data ever again. Loosing 6 months worth of photos and videos of my little one was what effected me the most. If you don’t do so already, you should back up your data on a weekly basis, especially if you are trying to create a business and your data is the key to your success!

Video 3: Download And Read Sales Letter ABC

Because the next phase of our training course is all about creating our products sales page, John wants us to prepare by reading Randy Smith’s book “Sales Letter ABC”. As I mentioned earlier John managed to convince Randy to give us free access to the ebook as we are part of the masterclass program. Another freebie to compliment the course!!! Very Cool!

I have read Randy’s book a couple of times now and it really does simplify the process of writing a sales letter. (If you want to check it out click here “Sales Letter ABC”). If you don’t want to write your own sales letter there are some really good software programs that can help you out such as “Burpies” by Brett McFall. (Click here to check out “Burpies”). I have used this program and do recommend it highly.

If you are struggling to write a sales letter, which I did and still do! I actually used a combination of the software and Randy’s book. For example I do a rough draft using the software and then edit the page with the principles of ‘Sales Letter ABC’. I side tracked a little! Back to our training. John recommends that we read Randy’s book at least 2-3 times in preparation for the next few weeks of training.

2. How to sign up to receive free access
3. And how to download and open the file

Week 16 Checklist:

Our checklist tasks for Week 16 were:

1. Convert our ebook to PDF
2. Test all links in the converted PDF
3. Arrange our files and folders to remain organised
4. Back up our data
5. Download ‘Sales Letter ABC’ by Randy Smith
6. Continue to visit the masterclass forum
7. Continue visiting fellow student and marketers blogs and make comments where possible
8. Continue posting to our own blogs

OK so that is Week 16 wrapped up.

P.P.S John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Masterclass Coaching may be closed at the moment. He has just started the new 2010 program and he only ever takes a limited amount of students at a time so as to dedicate himself to our learning, basically it is a first in first served situation.
