John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Master Class Coaching Program Week 33!

Welcome to Week 33 of John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Training Masterclass Coaching Program.
10 training weeks to go! Woo Hoo!!!!! Happy dance!
Well actually there really is only 3 weeks as the course officially ends at week 36, however I have decided to write about the extra 6 weeks that we received.
4 of those weeks were case studies that John made of some fellow students website sales pages. (I will write about these in one post.) 1 is on writing our own case studies and the final week we were asked to participate in a survey.
In this weeks training we begin the final phase of our coaching program called “Advanced Tactics” so with out further comment lets begin with this weeks tasks…….
Internet Marketing Masterclass Week 33: Creating And Offering Discounts
One advanced tactic a lot of marketers use is having a special discount page for their products. This page can be used for subscriber specials, or for previous customers. This page is not one that will have affiliates promote unless you set it up for an exclusive affiliate later on.
This week we were sent our usual welcome letter for the week, our checklist of tasks plus we had 4 videos to download and learn.
Video 1: Create Discount Folder
Having a discount folder can work to a business advantage. For example, we may have someone interested in promoting our product but would like to preview it first. Rather than give them a free copy, we could offer them the discount version and possibly make a cheaper sale.
The first thing John wants us to do in this video is to create a ‘Discount’ folder and copy all of our sales page files from our website into this folder.
Basically this is a duplicate copy of everything.
Video 2: Add Discounted Product To Clickbank
In this video John shows us how to add our discounted product to ‘Clickbank’.
We are shown:
- How to access our ‘Clickbank’ account settings to find our listed products
- How to take our first product and duplicate it
- How to edit the product number and title
- How to determine the discounted price
- How to direct the product to the same Thank You or Download Page
- And how to save the settings
When deciding on a discounted price John recommends that it should be between 30-50% off. The bottom line is that the product is a digital downloadable item and as long as we can make extra sales where we may not have done so before, then the price should not matter too much.
If we are doing the discount page exclusively for joint venture partners or super affiliates then it is recommended to be at least a 50% discount.
Video 3: Edit Discounted Page
Before completely adding our product to ‘Clickbank’ we will need to edit our ‘discount page’ as well as renaming it.
All we need to do to change the discount page is to rearrange and edit some of the text.
For example adding in “Special price of $XX available via personal invitation only” in the heading.
Where ever we have written the full price of the product we should put a ‘slash’ through that price, add in our discount price and underneath the discount price add, “Through This Special Link”.
We will also need to edit the payment button to whatever product number we created the discount product to be on ‘Clickbank’.
Once we have edited and changed the discount page, the files are ready for uploading and for completing the ‘Clickbank’ application process.
Video 4: Upload Discount Folder
In this video John shows us how to upload our discount folder to our products website. (We should already know how to do this from uploading our original sales page.
)
Our folder should be uploaded to the same folder that we uploaded our ‘Affiliates Folder’ and ‘Thank You’ folder to.
The next thing that John recommends for us to do is to test our links and ‘buy button’ to make sure everything works properly.
If we want to generate quick sales we could create a title such as, “For the next 48 hours I am going to have a special discount link…..”
Send the email out to our subscribers list and then take the page down after 48 hours.
We could also duplicate the process and offer discounts of different amounts.
There is nothing stopping us from having our main product priced at @$97, plus have a discount page of $77 and then another discount page for $67 and $57 etc etc.
As we create more products in the future having discount pages can be a great way to cross promote our products to our different buyers.
The more different ways we can promote our product even if they are at different prices, the more chance we have of making sales.
The more sales we make, the more money we make!
Once we have created the folders, edited the pages and uploaded all the files to our webspace we then need to confirm that our discount page has been correctly uploaded to ‘Clickbank’.
Important: Make sure that these products are not able to be viewed in the marketplace. You want the products listed as private. You only want invited affiliates to be able to promote these special pages!
Week 33 Checklist:
Our checklist tasks for Week 33 were:
- Create a discount folder
- Edit our discount page and rename it
- Upload the discount folder to our product webspace
- Add the discount page to our ‘Clickbank’ account
- Test the sales process
- Create other discount pages if we want to
- Continue posting to our blogs
- Continue visiting the masterclass forum and communicating with fellow students
- Continue to visit fellow students, marketers, niche blogs and forums and post comments where appropriate
- Continue writing and submitting articles
OK so that is Week 33 wrapped up.

Thanks for interesting article. I found this blog by accident. But the coaching courses seems to be quite interesting. As I understand the present one almost finished. However will there be any other similar coaching courses?

Yes this particular course has finished, however John Thornhill’s Masterclass Coaching program will start again in the new year. If you want to stat the program now, you will need to click through my link where you can do a trial of the program.
The trial offer is only available through past students and friends of John’s.
I will be writing about other courses that I have been involved with as I complete them.
