Hello All,

I thought it was about time I continued on with my online business training series after being delayed the last couple of weeks. Thank you so much for your patience. Luckily while I was delayed computer wise I spent quite a bit of time hand writing up my summary articles which should reduce some time in writing these posts and I should be able to post a couple this week.

So without further a due lets continue on with Week 7 of the John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Training Masterclass Coaching Program.

Internet Marketing Masterclass Week 7: Marketing Masterclass Forum Access

As of week 7 we have now beginning phase 2 of our online business creation which is learning how to create our own product.

This week we were sent our welcome letter for the week, and a checklist. We didn’t have any videos to download this week as John wanted us to start thinking about our product ideas. So basically we were given the week off, well sort of……..

Masterclass Forum

The best thing about this week was John introduced us to the Masterclass Forum that he had created for us where all of the students can participate, learn and share ideas and suggestions. The forum is a fantastic compliment to the training program as it enables us to share our ideas and communicate with other like minded people. The best thing about this forum is that the people on it are all learning together. Some of us will learn at different levels however the coolest thing about the forum is that we can use the forum to encourage and help each other out.

I actually didn’t join in on the forum until around Week 18 (which I think was around May), however I have been a very active member since. There are over 100 of us in there and we have become a little internet family!

(Forum update: We have technically finished our masterclass training now, yes I know I am a bit slack with the training summary posts however John has announced that we have lifetime access to the forum! Another plus for doing this training program! )

OK, so moving forward.

Niche Ideas

The reason why we were not given any videos this week is because John wanted us to start thinking about the concept of choosing a niche for our product. We were given a list of questions that he wanted us to think about and answer.

1. To think of 10-20 things/subjects etc that we considered ourselves to be good at. (Such as cooking, caring for kids, sports, gardening, relationships, speaking, etc etc. Things that we felt we were knowledgeable in.)
2. To think of 10-20 things/topics etc that people tell us we are good at. (This was a good one to ask people that know us, both friends and family.)
3. To think of at least 10-20 things that we enjoy.
4. To think of at least 10-20 hobbies we like doing.
5. To think about at least 10-20 subjects and topics that we are passionate about.

The idea was for us to write at least 10 possible items for each question, that we could then refine in the next few weeks through further research.

My Niche

Before even starting my masterclass training program I had already decided the topic I was going to write about as I had already written my manual previously on teaching people how to spray tan. The advantage of having already written the basic manual from my selling experience with ebay before my bubba was born was that all I needed to do was update, improve and add to it.

Teaching Beauty School was one of my favourite past jobs. I loved the industry and teaching people how to set up their own beauty business. Spray Tanning is one of the easiest beauty treatments to perform, as long as you know how to do it right.

One of the best advantages of Spray tanning is that the treatment can be performed in a salon, at your own home or going to a client’s home. It is a perfect business for the mum at home or someone who wants to earn extra casual part time money spray tanning friends and family. The other plus about learning spray tanning is that it is not expensive to do. You don’t have to do years of training courses and spend heaps of money on equipment. If you are thinking of entering or exploring the idea of the beauty industry then learning spray tanning is a perfect entry point.

I loved spray tanning, operating a spray tanning business before my bubba was born and teaching people how to spray on tan, so writing a training manual to teach the basics of the industry was only natural for me to do. The other benefit is that I am a qualified certified training educator. I have taught in 2 well respected local government approved beauty colleges training hundreds of students and salon owners, thus anyone that chooses to purchase my training manual is learning from someone that is actually qualified to teach them.

Week 7 Checklist:

Our checklist tasks for Week 7 were:

1. Have a rest! (Boy do I need one of them!)
2. Visit the forum everyday and communicate with our fellow students
3. Continue posting to our blogs
4. Continue commenting and visiting fellow student blogs
5. Answer the questions about our niche interests to create a list of topics we may create a product in

OK so that is Week 7 wrapped up.

P.P.S John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Masterclass Coaching may be closed at the moment. He has just started the new 2010 program and he only ever takes a limited amount of students at a time so as to dedicate himself to our learning, basically it is a first in first served situation.
