November’s Internet Business Daily Tasks!

Hello All,

As it is the first week of December it is really starting to look a lot like Christmas! :) Every one has started decorating the houses with lights and the parties are beginning! My little one is getting excited. She is just on 2 and a half and this is the first Christmas she will really understand.

Last weekend she saw “Santa” at our local shopping centre and was very fascinated with the whole red suit idea. She is loving the lights and decorations and keeps saying “Wow! Pretty!” It is humbling and enjoyable to watch the magic through her innocent eyes. It reminds me why I am learning how to create a business online. This is for her. For me to be able to spend time with her and still be able to provide.

So enough of my rambling…… :) The point of this post is to give you a description of my daily tasks for the last month. For those of you who have been reading my posts over the last 2 weeks you will notice I have really been focusing on bringing you my summaries of my online business training with John Thornhill. Not only that my little one has decided to give up the afternoon naps so I have had to rearrange my schedule and find new time to focus on my studies and learning.

The month of November has been a very busy month internet wise and I have a very big list. So with out further comment here is my summary…….

November’s Daily Tasks

  1. I learned how to authenticate my blog for ‘mybloglog’. (I wrote a post earlier this month in order to do it. Click Here for that post. I tried installing a meta tag, but it didn’t work. I have actually found since joining ‘mybloglog’ that I have been receiving some new unique visitors and getting more traffic. I still haven’t utilised ‘mybloglog’ as well as I could. That is a future task to do and learn! :P )
  2. I wrote 12 posts to my blog. (Most of these were to do with my training program I am studying. If you click on the archive for November you will see all the posts I submitted. 12! Not bad! :P )
  3. I caught up with visiting everyone’s blogs. (That was earlier in the month, now according to my Google Reader I am a little bit behind! Sorry. I will be around to everyone’s blogs soon I promise! :D )
  4. I learned a really cool technique from Gordon Bosnick re driving traffic to our sites and improving our websites ranking. (You can read Gordon’s post by clicking here: Gordon Bos. I started to use the technique, although I have had to temporarily remove the software mentioned. For some reason my computer has those lovely little tracking cookies in it again sending me to Gambling sites. I am having trouble removing them and I found that the software was increasing my cookies because I was constantly access the internet. I am sure this does not happen to everyone. The software does work and the technique Gordon teaches does work!. I did find an increase in visitors and traffic when I was using the technique. I just have to fix this virus problem, before I can do it again. I think it has something to do with my firewall…not sure! :? I will work it out. :) )
  5. I added in My Website Policy page. (In order to comply with international spamming laws, FTC Guidelines etc etc. I finally created a page detailing the guidelines I need. )
  6. I updated all my posts, categories and pages with my affiliate disclosure disclaimer. (This took ages, as I had to re read all my posts and pages and change their categories. Every post that has an affiliate link in it can now be found in 2 categories ‘Affiliated Products’ and ‘Recommended Stuff’)
  7. I uploaded all my affiliate images to my website and changed all my images locations to match in. (I have noticed my blog takes a little while to load sometimes. It was suggested by a fellow student for me to host my images instead of linking to images from other sites. That way I am not relying on the other websites to load fast as well. I am not sure if this has improved my websites loading time, but I thought I would give it a go and find out. If any of you have any suggestions on improving load time, let me know ;) )
  8. I added in some more folders and graphic templates to my website www.jadsdeals.com. (I am about to start listing some stuff on ebay. I have a shed full of junk, clothes etc etc etc that I thought it was about time to get rid of, and as the saying goes “Someone’s trash is someone’s treasure” so hopefully I will male some sales. I am using my www.jadsdeals website to host all my images and auction templates. I like adding in extra images to my auctions and the cheapest way to do that is to host them myself instead of paying the extra money through ebay.)
  9. I started following people who were following me on ‘Twitter’. (I am still completely new to this twitter thing, however I have noticed a slight increase in traffic whenever I tweet a post. So I figured the more people I follow who in return follow me then the more traffic I can potentially encourage to my blog over time. I am starting to understand the concept of the social networking process slowly! ;) If you want to follow me on Twitter click on the link at the top right corner of my sidebar. :P )
  10. I learned how to cloak my affiliate links. (Even though the new FTC guidelines encourages us to be transparent with our promotions, I really don’t like the look of the standard affiliate links to products with lots of numbers etc. I registered a domain name called www.jacintalikes.com and have all my affiliate links come from there. I think that looks heaps better! :D I have to give credit to 2 fellow Masterclass students for teaching me how to cloak my links. I watched a great video on Derrick Bailey’s Blog and Jay Mueller has a free guide you can download and learn from step by step. Both are great techniques.)
  11. I downloaded my monthly quota of products from Resell Rights Fortune. (I am starting to get a few ideas of what I am going to use the products for now. :P )
  12. I downloaded my weekly coaching from John Thornhill’s Internet Marketing Masterclass Program. (Our program was only meant to go for 36 weeks. We are up to week 42 and according to the email I received today John has another 10 weeks of modules to send us! )
  13. I downloaded my monthly products from my membership with PLR Monthly.
  14. I downloaded my monthly training from my membership with the Thirty Day Challenge Plus Training. (I still have to watch my training here! I am a little bit behind. :| )
  15. I did my usual computer maintenance of virus checking, back ups, defraging, etc etc. (I still can’t seem to get rid of these silly pop up thingys! I am starting to realise we need to be careful of the websites we visit. I had gotten rid of them when the computer went into the shop, however I visited a site from someone visiting me and for some reason something tried to download itself to my computer and I ended up with “Casino’ again! I think my computer is vulnerable from before and I really believe the only way to fix the problem is to reformat the bloody thing! Please excuse the language. I am a bit peeved! :( )

OK so that is the summary of my internet business travels in the last month. Like I have said earlier I am going to focus on completing the summaries to John’s training over the next month. I do believe once the summaries are completed they will be a great resource for people who want a quick over view of what the course entails as well as how long it takes and all the tasks we need to do to start a business online and create a product of our own.

I am really staring to understand that developing a business online is no different to developing a business off line. They both take time, money, perseverance, determination and focus, not to mention some sort of goal and plan to work to!

This stuff does not happen over night! And as I learn more and more no longer do I believe the hype of the instant internet millionaire. I am actually glad the FTC has brought in the new guidelines because no longer can people fill us with all the hype and the crap about making fast money online. It will be interesting to see now how people promote their products and what they actually say…….Hmmmm! :)

OK I think I have rambled on enough for now.

So until next time……..

Enjoy Your Learning!

My Sig :D

    Hi John,

I have been trying to get heaps done. I have some other projects I want to move on to in the new year. Re setting up eBay, completing my spray tanning site, and concentrating on list building so I really want to complete the training side of things so there is some good content on here for people to refer to. :)

I have noticed an increase in traffic since registering with ‘mybloglog’. I haven’t used it to the full potential yet. That is one of my tasks for the new year. Paul Lear has writen about his experience with mybloglog on his blog. http://www.paul-lear.com. I can’t remember the post but have a look. He has been using some techniques and said his traffic has doubled.

I will keep you posted!

    Jacinta :D

P.S Thank you so much for popping by regularly. I am glad someone is enjoying my training summaries! Actually there are a few people, so I have to keep them up. :D

  2. Hi Jacinta,

I’ll have to check that traffic technique out that you mentioned, but sorry to hear you’ve got your casino pop-ups back again! :-|

I’ve just made a post about the new FTC guidelines, although I still need to update my blog a bit to get it up to scratch..lol

It’s only really on one or two posts though, I don’t really use it to promote on, but I’ll have to add a disclosure notice even on the free offers I’ve blogged about which have oto’s.

I’m also about to kick off my ebay selling again, but I’m going to wait until the new year now cos Christmas post is slow, and things go missing.

I have loads of good quality stuff I can sell on there that I no longer need, so I’m quite looking forward to seeing how much I can get for it all.

Creating a business online isn’t as easy as some people make out, but like you say, with perseverance, determination, goals and with some good planning and guidance from a mentor… You are bound to see success as long as you don’t give up.

    Take care,

    Paul

PS- I notice I’m appearing more than once on your Top Commentators since I started using the keywords for keywordluv. If you go into settings for the Top Commentators widget, you should be able to stop it from doing that by setting it to group people by email rather than username.

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for popping by!

I have been reading quite a bit on the FTC guidelines to make sure that I am covered. We have to be aware of the products we promote as well as if we are publishers how our affiliates promote. I think places like Clickbank and Paydotcom will change their rules soon.

I am looking forward to selling on ebay in the new year. I have 2 sheds full of stuff and not to mention a heap of baby stuff my little one has out grown. :|

Thank you for the advice on the Top commentator widget. I will get that sorted.

Re the traffic technique. It is a good one. Tristiana allows you to literally be one of the first commentators on the high ranking blogs. When I used the technique it was starting to increase my traffic. I will get the pop ups sorted and do it again. I really do think my computer needs to be reformatted.

See you on your blog soon!

    Jacinta :D

  3. It seems managing a blog is tough and you have to be busy to become active blogger.

    Hi Bitcart,

Thank you for popping by!

I completely agree! Blogging does take a lot of work. Especially when you are trying to create a site full of educational content.

Hope to see you back here soon!

    Jacinta :P
