Today I Am A Proud Australian Woman!
Hello All,
I am on a roll at the moment this is my third post for this week!
I have been tossing and turning about writing this post the last few days, however it finally got the better of me this morning.
This week here in Australia we have had a very significant and historical event occur. For the first time in our countries history we have a female Prime Minister. Her name is Julia Gillard.
Right now I am not going to go into the politics or discuss anything about it, as I do not believe in airing my beliefs in this arena, however what I am going to say is right now I am very proud to be an “Australian Woman”.
Australia is an awesome, beautiful country full of opportunity and to see a woman become our Prime Minister was absolutely amazing and something I did not think was going to happen for a number of years yet.
Watching the television Thursday morning as the events unfolded, I sat my daughter on my knee. She is only 3 and right now does not understand what has happened. I was pointing to Ms Gillard on the TV trying to tell my little one that she was our new leader.
However the point I really want to make was seeing this event occur this week……..
NOW I truly believe my daughter can grow up to be anything she wants to be!
And I will be a very proud Mumma right behind her!
What an historic week for the daughters of our future!
And on that note I have picked out a beautiful 2 minute video I would like to share with you.
Enjoy!!
Until next time……..
To The Daughters Of Our Future!
Be Good To You & Believe In Your Dreams!

Hi Jacinta
I quite agree, we really do live in a land of opportunity. I know a lot of other countries have or have had female prime ministers, I just didn’t think it would happen quite so soon (I don’t think Kevin Rudd did either).
There is so much opportunity for anyone to do what they want to do, they just have to believe that they can do it and have the passion and the strength to achieve their dreams.
My daughter, who is 11, has Australian Politics as this terms focus. It seems funny that now all the things that she has been learning are not quite so boring when all of a sudden we have a female PM. She may never be PM but now she can see that she can be anything she wants to be.
I hope our daughters and everyone’s son’s and daughters grown up to happy, healthy and be who they want to be.
Talk soon.
Take care.

Hi Robyn,
Thank you for popping by!
I could not agree with you more!
Our country has had an historic event occur, and it is such an inspiration for our daughters and their future.
I am so sick of seeing those booty call videos, showing our girls to be sex objects, the advertising, the shows etc etc.
Maybe now that we have a female Prime Minister, our countries daughters can aim to achieve so much more and be better girls and women for their daughters!
I feel a shift in the energy of our country occurring.
Had better get back to the studies, see you on your blog soon!
Cheers

Hi Jacinta, it really is exciting and she looks so yourng too. The only thing I worry about is that both her and Obama are taking over during very hard economic times. Things aren’t good and may not be for a while and I hope no one blames them for that – they’re just taking on someone else’s mess:) Good luck to both of them!

Hi Annabel,
Thank you for popping by!
It is exciting what has occurred and yes I agree both leaders have to steer the ships through troubled waters so to speak.
What I believe is that there is a shift in the world energy occurring and that is a good thing! It is what our grandmothers and their grandmothers have fought for, for so long.
We can only wait to see how all the events unfold, we are in for some interesting times ahead.
See you on your blog soon!
Cheers

Hi Jacinta, what a refreshing post. You’re right to be proud my friend.
I don’t talk about politics either, but will say that with all these new leaders coming into power lets hope they make the world a better place.
I loved the video, and the fact that my stress ebbed away during it.
Catch up soon my friend, regards Barry

Hi Barry,
Thank you for popping by!
I tossed and turned for days on whether to write the post or not because I really didn’t want to mention the politics side of it all.
Once I watched the video when I was looking for motivational stuff I knew how to write the post.
Glad your stress ebbed away! The video is a little gem.
My daughter loves it. When I have the computer on she says “Mummy play cat and bunny!”
I do hope our world is in for an energy shift. Our country is already changing in its energy already.
Hope all is going well. See you on your blog soon!
Cheers

Hey Jacinta,
“To the daughters of our future” awwww such a lovely quote.
The video was sweet too, you trying to make me cry ha ha.
Jade wants to be a model, a popstar and a vet, not quite sure she can do all 3 at once, but hey I am not one to stomp on her dreams.
Was good to read a personal post from you, it’s nice to connect and feel like I know you better, Sally

Hi Sally,
Thank you for popping by!
I was very proud last week from a feminine point of view. I believe the daughters of this world are our future and to see a female prime minister happen was awesome.
Politically I am not sure how she will go, however as a women and an inspiration to our girls I thought it was fantastic.
Taya is only 3 and at this stage I don’t think she knows what she wants to do apart from playing with the pets, playing with playdough and dancing to Wiggles!
I think dreams and goals are so important for our girls no matter what they are. When I was teaching 15 year old girls at Beauty School I used to get them to write a goal list in one of my classes.
It had nothing to do with Artificial Nails however I knew it would be effective for them to do. I had quite a few students thank me months later for getting them to write the list. It gave them more focus and perspective on what they really wanted to do.
I thought the video was a cute one. Taya loves it, she says “play bunny mummy” when she sees my computer on.
Hope everything is going well. See you on your blog soon!
Cheers

Congratulations Jacinta, I have been reading some good things about Julia Gillard. I think she came from a solid working-class background? If that’s true, it’s a refreshing change from the middle & upper-classes that dominate British politics.
Our first and only female Prime Minister was a middle-class grocers daughter from Grantham; Margaret Thatcher. She turned out to be one of the greatest Prime Ministers we have ever had, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Australia.
Looking forward to the 30 day challenge!

Hi John,
Thank you for popping by!
As far as I know that is true about her background. What is more is that she is a Welsh migrant!!
I think her energy will be good for the country for a while and well needed. Not only that I believe it is perfect timing for the little girls of our country.
The energy has been shifting to a bit of a bimbo girl nation so now maybe the girls can dream to aspire to more, well at least I hope for my daughter anyway.
All I can do is keep encouraging her to believe in her dreams.
I am looking forward to the challenge learning this year as well, plus I love the new format. I have more of a chance of actually getting through the tasks this year!
See you on your blog soon!
Cheers
