World Internet Summit – Perth Australia Feb 25-28
Hello All,
This is a very quick post to let you know about the up coming “World Internet Summit Seminar”. The next seminar is being held in Perth Australia from Thursday the 25th to Sunday the 28th of February 2010. That is less than 2 weeks away!
Due to my little one I will not be attending this year, however if you live in Perth or are able to get there I highly highly recommend attending this seminar. This is the seminar that I sent my father to back in 2007 when my daughter was 6 weeks old. This is the seminar that really sparked my interest in creating a business online.
My father came home from that event with pages and pages of notes and downloads and was absolutely mind boggled at the potential of business on the internet. I went through those notes and my internet business journey started.
Last year in March 2009 I was fortunate enough to go as my mother only lived a couple of kilometres from the event and was able to babysit my little one. My father went with me again. The seminar was awesome. I loved ever minute of it. It was a combination of attending the seminar and studying John’s course that has helped me to get where I am today.
Brett McFall and Tom Hua are the organisers of “World Internet Summit”. Every year they invite the world’s leaders in internet marketing to speak and teach.
This year they have the following internet marketers speaking; Tom Hua, Brett McFall, Sean Roach, Adam Ginsberg, Debra Thompson Roedl, Shaune Clarke, Ewen Chia, Armand Morin, Matt Bacak, Dr Mike Woo-Ming, Brian Kozobucki, Mike Stewart, Matt & Amanda Clarkson, Raymond Aaron, Steven Essa, Scott Letourneau, Michael Koenigs, Tracey Repchuk, Nic Lucas, Mark Ling, Gail Bottomley, Alok Jain, Roy Carter, Andy Harrington, Nicola Cairncross, & Mark Anastasi. That is one big list!!
Now before I continue I will be honest and tell you that each one of these speakers will have a coaching program that they will promote at the end of each of their training sessions, however let me also tell you that none of these speakers are actually paid to be there. Most of these speakers will be paying their own way to be there and speak at the event.
Do not think that the seminar will just be a sales pitch for further training, because it won’t be. I have learned a wealth of information from attending these events and to this date I have not signed up for any of the extra coaching.
I will say that one of the most inspiring of the speakers would have to be Raymond Aaron. I have been lucky enough to see him twice and he is absolutely amazing and he is definitely someone I want to learn from in the future. And the 2 most entertaining and funniest speakers would have to be Sean Roach and Steven Essa. I was giggling all the way through their presentations, however I did learn heaps and heaps.
I am disappointed I can not go this year, however hopefully I will be able to go again next year. Going to these types of internet marketing business seminars can be really rewarding and really inspiring. You get the chance to meet like minded people all there to learn the same as you. The seminars are full of energy and are presented with the complete newbie in mind.
If you are able to get to one of these seminars you will not regret it.
OK so that is my 2 cents. I just thought I would remind you about the program if you are interested.

Hi Jacinta,
Seminars are great not just for the info you can get, but also for the networking opportunities, although some seminars are just a front for selling stuff to you…
The one I went to of Lee McIntyre’s was completely the opposite, zero selling went on and instead we were fed with good solid business advice and techniques.
I also met some great people at the event too, and got to sit at the same table & listen in on the likes of, John thornhill and Alex Jeffreys, and Lee McIntye talking business, while I was enjoying a few beers.
This World Internet Summit sounds like you would get a lot of good information from going there too, and the networking potential sounds amazing with all those big names in one place.
Although I will admit I only recognize Ewen Chia and Tom Hua from that list… But I have only been doing this for 8 months, so not surprising really.
How much does it cost to go anyway, in US dollars?
I must go now anyway, I’ve already said to much here.
Talk soon,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Thank you for popping by!
World Internet Summit costs around $200 US to go, but I am pretty sure you can invite a guest for free as well. The whole weekend is designed for the complete newbie and they teach heaps and heaps, plus you also get access to past online training as well.
I would love to go to this event however it is just not feasible. Hopefully next year they will have the seminar closer to home. I do know that they go to London closer to the end of the year. I think Tom Harvey went last year to it. Not sure.
I really like going to the seminars, just for the energy and the motivation you get from the events, plus communicating with like minded people. doing this industry from home can be hard sometimes especially when most people around you have no idea what you are talking about. Sometimes I can feel a little isolated.
I do know that there should be a seminar in the middle of the year close to home. So I look forward to that.
See you on your blog soon!

That’s not bad then, I paid $197 for the event I mentioned above, it would be a nice couple of days away from your computer too for you.
I hope you get to go to the next one nearer to home, that was a big factor in me choosing the event I went to, it was only a 20 minute drive to Manchester town centre for me.

Hi Paul,
It is a good price considering it is 4 full days of training. Most of the speakers, speak for about an hour and a half. It is only the last half hour of their speech that they mention their training that they offer. The first hour is pure content. The other good thing is that each speaker is a specialist in their own area. EG Brett is good at copywriting, Matt Bacak is good at membership stuff, Raymond Aaron (He is awesome) is a life coach and is really motivating and inspiring. I would sign up to his program if I could. Matt and Amanda Clarkson and Adam Ginsberg are good a ebay. Steven Essa is good at Webinars etc etc. That is why I like going, because you learn from a whole heap of different people, and then if someone resonates with you and you want to do the coaching you can sign up.

Hi Jacinta,
It would be great to be able to go to the Internet Summit in Perth but I won’t be able to make it there.
Events like that are a good place to learn internet marketing.
In January I went to my first event which was a Marketing With Alex Workshop 2010 in Las Vegas.
It was wonderful to meet fellow students of internet marketing and the guest speakers were a valuable bonus. Alex was a delight to meet in person too.
It’s good to go to these events whenever it’s possible because a lot of networking also takes place and the people are more real in person than just virtually over the internet.

Hi Vance,
Thank you for popping by!
I love the seminar events. I really do think they are a great place to learn and meet new people. I also believe they are a great motivating tool. Creating a business from home can be isolating at times, that is why these events can be so popular as well.
As far as I know “World Internet Summit” travels to the US as well. I will have to let people know as I find out. If you sign up to their mailing list they will notify you.
Had better go, little one has just jumped on my lap.
See you on your blog soon!

Hey Jacinta
How are ya?
Hope the course is going well for you, seen much success?
Yes it is good going to these events I have attended two now, just costs a bit.
The world internet summit sounds like a good event, I still find it hard to actually step out from behind my computer and meet people.
Nice to hear from you Jacinta

Hi Marcus,
Thank you for popping by!
You should step out from behind your computer more often! However sadly Yes I can relate to that fact too!
The seminars are great and I do really enjoy them as I am sure you enjoyed yours!! It sounds like you all had a ball at Alex’s event.
See you one your blog soon!

Hi Jacinta,
I have been to two or three seminar events in Birmingham UK,but that was when i was dabbling in MLM,however on the same principle you get the opportunity to rub shoulders with the right people for advice, on guy i met from Bristol grossed £58000 per month and this figure apparently rose by £3000 a month every year!
Imagine the advice he has to give, to people starting in MLM?
So yes seminars are very important to your business!

Hi JohnEd,
Thank you for popping by!
I love the seminars, only problem is with little one there are only so many I can get to. There is one on this week that I would have loved to have gone to, but can’t get babysitter for all day.
When I do get the chance to go I jump on them. I find them inspiring and very motivating.
Wow on the guy earning $58,000 that is incredible! I sometimes find it hard to imagine earning that amount of money per month, however I do know that it is possible.
Had better get back to the studies. See you on your blog soon!
Jacinta
Hi Jacinta,
Thanks for the news about the seminar.
A bit far for me, I think, but it would be nice in more ways than one.
I went to a few seminars in London at the beginning and wasted some money but I have since learned enough to recognize which is a good, useful seminar and which is a sales fest!
It is always good to get even more motivation by talking to the more successful marketers and returning home, recharged and raring to go! Of course, the potential for JVs is there as well.

Hi Dave,
I can agree on some seminars being a sales fest, although I don’t think it is the seminar itself, more the presenters not understanding that they need to give in order to receive.
I always go to the seminars with the intention not to buy any programs. I made that mistake many years ago when I went to an Anthony Robbins seminar. Don’t get me wrong, he is a great guy, however I got sucked in to signing up for a program I couldn’t afford and then when I tried to cancel it was a nightmare, they kept billing me and then kept my money. I lost nearly $3,000.
I always go with an open mind, I learn as much as I can. I never sign up to any coaching on the spot. My attitude is to go away think about it for a week and then contact the organisers if I really want to do a program. So far I haven’t signed up for any. It has been a good technique so far plus I have learned heaps!
Thanks for popping by! See you on your blog soon!
Jacinta
Hi Jacinta,
I look forward to the day I can get to a seminar, they have always appealled to me and I’m sure there’s a wealth of knowledge that can come from attending. Thanks for the info.
Enjoy the journey.

Hi Mandy,
The seminars are great to go to and yes there is a wealth of knowledge you can get from them without signing up to the coaching programs.
I would like to attend more of them, however it is a little hard around the 2 year old!

Hey Jacinta,
Gotta say that seminars rock!!
I recently went to the Vegas event and has a blast; in terms of the fun had and the friends made and the info gained!!
That’s a scary story with the Tony Robbins event – they shouldn’t make it so hard for you to get your money back!!
I’ll be back over to check out your blog again soon.

Hi Rob,
Nice to meet you!
I just did a quick pop by your blog and I see you are a fellow Alex student!! I haven’t studied with Alex yet, however I feel like I have in communicating with a few of his fellow students.
I have heard about your Vegas event. It sounds like you all had an awesome time not only partying so to speak but all so the learning side of things.
Yes the Tony Robbins fiasco was not a nice experience at the time. It was 10 years ago. I signed up to his Mastery Coaching which at that stage was something like $15,000 and it was not something I could afford. My first learning experience on the whole sales process thing.
The problem was, they made it hard to cancel. I had to make 3 different phone calls at the time and each time they kept trying to talk me out of it and kept billing my credit card. I even sent them letters etc etc. It took 2 months to cancel plus they kept the money! I got nothing back.
That experience is what taught me to go to all seminar events with an open mind and a commitment not to buy. You can always contact the organisers within a week after the event and organise something with them. Plus I always figure I can go to the event again and if I really want to buy then I will then.
So far the only course I am really interested in doing is Raymond Aaron’s. He is absolutely amazing and really inspiring. His program is 17 months worth and very reasonably priced.
Had better get back to studies…..
See you on your blog soon!

Another useful post and thanks for the mention! I saw Brad and Tom at the Entrepreneurs Bootcamp (Andrew Reynolds event) which was a similar type of event however not solely internet based (direct mail was also featured etc).
I know that the World Internet Summit is run in a number of countries and has been to the UK before too, looks like a great event in terms of breadth of speakers. I would note the key is to look past the pitches as there is some great content in there for free.
If you do go with the intention of signing up for a program/mentor I would advise listening to all the speakers before making your decision as you frequently will see people try and commit to 2/3 programs that catch their interest and they are just making it an uphill struggle from the start with info overload (not to mention a lighter wallet!)
I think that the connections and info you can gain from seminars is often under appreciated and I definately intend to get to more this year, hopefully see you at one soon!!

Hi Tom,
Thank you for popping by!
I completely agree with everything you are saying about choosing a mentor. And definitely agree on listening to all speakers before signing up for anything. Friends of mine committed to 3 different programs last year and didn’t get as much out of them as they were information overloaded.
My intention is one mentor at a time so you can really learn and absorb what they are trying to teach you.
I do hope one day I can travel to them. It would be awesome. I just need to earn enough to bring my family with me as well.
See you on your blog soon!

Hi Jacinta
Your enthusiasm for these events shines through big time! Sadly it’s a bit far for me to travel, but I have to say the weather is very appealing, it’s snowing here…again.
Have you ever thought about running your own seminar…especially knowing as much as you do…even if you did it for free, you’d recruit a team of people to bounce ideas off and maybe even work for you in return for your teachings
Just a thought
catch up soon
cheers

Hi Steve,
Thank you for popping by!
I really enjoyed popping by your blog to the other day to see what you are up to. You have really come along way in the last couple of months!!
Thanks for the vote of confidence on running my own seminar, maybe in a few years time. I want to be able to walk the talk before I actually get involved with teaching. At the moment, my income level is only pocket money, but I do know in time it will improve.
I would like to teach one day. I know that I would enjoy it. I have my small business qualification and my trainer qualification, however I still need to get my coaching qualification. Once I have that under my belt I will seriously look at consulting and teaching offline industries to come online.
See you on your blog soon!
